The AI How-To Daily newsletter
One practical AI how-to by email on weekdays: a real task, a copy-paste prompt for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Copilot, and what to double-check. About a 3-minute read. Free.
What you get
- One task per issue, start to finish: plan Thanksgiving dinner, answer a tricky email, build a spreadsheet formula, prepare for an interview.
- A prompt you can paste, with [brackets] for your details.
- The catch: where AI tends to get it wrong and what to check before you rely on it.
- A link to the full guide on this site if you want the step-by-step version.
What an issue looks like
Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov 26. Paste this into your AI assistant and fill in the brackets:
I'm hosting Thanksgiving for [number] people, [any dietary needs]. My budget is about [$]. I have [one oven / two ovens]. Suggest a menu, then a shopping list grouped by store section, then a day-of timeline working back from dinner at [time].Then ask: "Which dishes can I make two days ahead?" and "Swap anything that needs the oven at the same time as the turkey."
One rule: don't take turkey cooking times from a chatbot. Check them against USDA guidance (165°F in the thickest part of the thigh, wing and breast).
